Broadcasting Futures is due to begin soon!

This will be great news to those of you have already applied to take part.  The project will be going ahead as normal (after the hiccup that we had at the start) and we are still accepting applications for anyone still thinking about applying.  For those of you who don’t know anything about the project here is a little information.

CIIA and the Liverpool Sound City festival are teaming up with a selection of practitioners working in the fields of Broadcasting, Film and Radio to deliver a project to young people aged 14-19.  So ff this is you or you know someone who this might apply to then please read on…

Broadcasting Futures is a free project spaced over 8-10 weeks where young people will learn a variety of skills in Broadcasting, Film and Radio.  The aim of the young people taking part is to study a variety of careers across the Creative Industries.

By working during the Liverpool Sound City festival you will be working alongside Aimhigher Student Mentors and the Project Deliverers to interview and film a selection of individuals who currently work in the Creative Industries.

You will come into contact with people working in a variety of roles including A&R, Music Production, Artist Management, Sound and Lighting Technicians, Journalism, Photography, Tour Management, Record Label Bosses and so on.

You may even see and interview a few Artists and Musicians along the way.

As a final result you will use the film and recordings you have collected to put together a 15 minute documentary about careers in the Creative Industries.  Also using the material we will create a log in area of the CIIA website where young people interested in a Creative Career will be able to get advice about what careers are available and what responsibilities are involved.

If you are 14-19, motivated and want to try your hand at developing some Multi-Media skills then please email us at

info@creativeideasinaction.com or phone 0151 291 9100

We need your name, age, contact information and school name.  We will then send you an application form to the email address or postal address you leave.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
